Whatever Matt makes, it seems it’s very high quality. And the Eclipse Grips that I have are the perfect example. I purchased two and added the leather pad for each.
The craftsmanship and ruggedness are apparent when you get them. Here’s what I really like. The packaging was nondescript. Reminded me of my dad who used whatever he had around the house to package something up.
But I love people who underwhelm in things that don’t matter only to then completely overwhelm you with unmatched quality and craftsmanship on the important things.
I look forward the grips in every workout. In fact, I pick exercises so I can use them. I’ve basically retired my ropes and use these instead.
The knurling is perfect. Not too aggressive, but not too subtle either. Like Goldilocks, they’re just right! We’ve all used something where the knurling felt like spikes. Not with Matt's equipment.
The leather pads, I admit, were an indulgence but one I really like. The leather craft is top notch. And the backing adheres perfectly with the adhesive doughnut strips he includes.
If you have large hands, you may want to skip the leather as it does shorten a little the grip. My hands are a large, and with the pads, my thumb and index finger is off the knurled grip and onto the bolt. It doesn’t bother me. But you’ve been advised.
The design is simple. The execution, excellent. Right down to the coloring. It’s a nice touch to give your setup some personality.
Matt’s equipment is not cheap. But I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
Great product and an excellent customer service experience. So much better than using a tricep rope or other attachments. A premium well made that really does make your workout better.
Pretty much the best attachment out there for triceps and bicep hammer curls. Perfect length so you don't strain your wrists, and the leather provides just enough padding so they don't kill your knuckles during heavy hammer curls. For now, I didn't feel the need to glue the pads to the attachment - they fit tight enough to stay put.
The absolute best!
Amazing! High quality piece!
